Billie was born on May 16, 1928 in Becton, Texas to William and Gertrude Henry. She was the eldest of six children. She graduated from Rule High School in 1945 and married Joe Bill Barnes on March 19, 1949. Billie spent most of her career in the banking business and as a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joe Bill Barnes; her parents, Bill and Gertrude Henry; and three brothers, Jim Henry, Travis Henry, and Ben Henry.
Survivors include three sons, Al Barnes and wife, Sharon of Houston, Joe Barnes and wife, Kathy of Dallas, and Monte Barnes and wife, Geri of San Antonio; one sister, Nell Williams of Victoria, TX; and one brother, Joe Henry of Abilene. She is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild due in November.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association , 7400 Louis Pasteur Drive, #200, San Antonio, Texas 78229-4542 or Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, 611 N. Walnut Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
