Mrs. Lars Grue passes at St. Mary's Hospital
Mrs. Lars Grue passed away in St. Mary's Hospital on Sunday Mar. 6th, 1960, at the age of 69 years, 5 months, 23 days.
Avey Skaret was born in Loos, Sweden, on Sept. 13th, 1890, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Skaret. She immigrated with her parents to Harvey, North Dakota, in 1894. In 1901 they came to Canada and settled in the Armena district. She was confirmed in the Thordenskjold school house. She came to know the Lord as her Saviour early in life.
On July 2nd, 1913, she was united in marriage to Mr. Lars Grue and moved to his farm at Hay Lakes, where she lived until the fall of 1959, at which time she moved to Camrose and stayed with her daughter, Amy.
The deceased was a faithful member of the St. Joseph Lutheran church congregation.
Mrs. Lars Grue leaves to mourn her loss: four sons, Oliver of Armena, Norman of Hay Lakes, Chester and Wallace of Edmonton; four daughters, Amy and Gladys of Camrose, Velma (Mrs. Art Henkelman) of Edmonton, Isabelle (Mrs. Bob Sherwin) of Redding, California; 19 grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond of Edmonton, Richard of Armena; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Throndson of Kingman, Mrs. Gust Ostrem of Joliette, Illinois, Mrs. Dick Erickson of Camrose; also a host of relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband on March 5th, 1958.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 10th, at two p.m., at the St. Joseph Lutheran Church, Rev. Holte officiating. The service was as follows: hymn, "Children of the Heavenly Falther"; solo by a grand-daughter (Barbara Grue), "Jesus Never Fails"; Scripture reading and prayer; duet by Everrett and Edwin Grue, "Be Thou Near"; Rev. Holte spoke on 1 John 3:1, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God"; quartette (Mrs. Arthur Olafson, and Thelma Marvel and Daniel Skaret), "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"; hymn, "O Take My Hand, Dear Father".
Interment took place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Skaret, Rodney Skaret, Edwin Grue, Wesley Throndson, Harland Grue and Delmar Skaret.
Hoveland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
