George Wallace Adams, 63, of Rye, Texas died June 3 at his residence. He was a former resident of San Antonio for 14 years where he served with the Bexar Co. Sheriff's Dept. Reserve before moving to Rye and retiring with the Highland Park State Bank in Dayton. Survivors include: wife, Deana Adams of Rye; daughter, Martha Lacy of Matagorda; son, Gene Thompson of Uvalde; several step-children; sisters, Willie Mae Hutchins of Dallas, Allie Joy Laudermilk of Los Angeles; brothers, Charlie Adams of Bay City and Ed Adams of Bay City and Ed Adams of Rye; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4, at 2 p. m. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James E. Cowart officiating. Interment was at the Cedarvale Cemetery with pallbearers being: Johnny Ryman Jr., Lonnie Williams, Andy Anderson, Felton Munson, Odie Sweeny, Bill Lacy; honorary pallbearers: members and officers of the Bexar Co.
