In 1920 he and his parents and three siblings lived in a place they were renting in Bay City, TX. His father worked as a laborer in a rice mill.

In 1930 he and his parents, five siblings, and his niece Emma Jarrell lived in a house they owned at 2810 Sycamore Avenue in Bay City. Their home was valued at $800, and they did not have a radio. His father worked as a fireman at a rice mill.

In 1940 he and his wife, their daughter, and his niece Emma Jarrell lived in an apartment they were renting for $22 a month at 1646 Sixth Street (Apt. 2) in Bay City, TX. He worked as a truck driver in an oil field, with an income in 1939 of $430 for 20 weeks of work.

George Wallace Adams, 63, of Rye, Texas died June 3 at his residence. He was a former resident of San Antonio for 14 years where he served with the Bexar Co. Sheriff's Dept. Reserve before moving to Rye and retiring with the Highland Park State Bank in Dayton. Survivors include: wife, Deana Adams of Rye; daughter, Martha Lacy of Matagorda; son, Gene Thompson of Uvalde; several step-children; sisters, Willie Mae Hutchins of Dallas, Allie Joy Laudermilk of Los Angeles; brothers, Charlie Adams of Bay City and Ed Adams of Bay City and Ed Adams of Rye; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4, at 2 p. m. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James E. Cowart officiating. Interment was at the Cedarvale Cemetery with pallbearers being: Johnny Ryman Jr., Lonnie Williams, Andy Anderson, Felton Munson, Odie Sweeny, Bill Lacy; honorary pallbearers: members and officers of the Bexar Co. Sheriff's Dept. Reserve. Arrangements under the direction of Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
