The death of Mr. Cruse on Tuesday of this week came as a shock to the citizens here as he was a well known figure on our streets and was respected by all with whom he came in touch.

Wm. Cruze of Ellis Corners died Friday morning at an advanced age. Funeral Thursday.

The death of Mr. Cruse on Tuesday of this week came as a shock to the citizens here as he was a well known figure on our streets and was respected by all with whom he came in touch.

William Cruse an old and respected resident of this community died Tuesday morning, Oct. 6th of blood poisoning. Wednesday Sept. 30th in turning the fanninr mill he received an injury from a nail on his hand. Dr. Gubbins of Ceresco was the attending physician. His son and wife of Hudson were notified and arrived in time to be recognized by the father.

Wm. Cruse, aged eighty-one years, of Ellis Corners, died Tuesday of blood poisoning. Mr. Cruse ran a rusty nail in his hand about three weeks ago. The funeral occurred this afternoon at his late residence.

William Cruse.
---Wm. Cruse was born in the state of Pennsylvania on the 5th of July 1827 and departed this life Oct. 6, 1908 aged 81 yrs, 3 mo, 1 da.
---In the year of 1850 he married Miss Sarah Garnhart. This union was blessed with three children. His wife and one daughter precede him in death.
---In 1853, Mr. Cruse packed his early possessions on a wagon and with his wife and an infant child started for the state of Michigan, and for a short time lived in Newton, township of Calhoun county, later moving across the line into Fredonia township, on the farm on which he resided until death.
---All who knew Mr. Cruse, knew him as a hard working and industrious farmer, an honest man, and a good citizen.
---He was an active member of the Evangelical church at Ellis Corners teaching a Sunday school class for sixty years.
---He leaves to mourn his loss one daughter, a son and a grandson and a host of friends.
---Services were held at his home, Rev. Wilkie of Marshall officiating. Interment occurred at Burlington.
