Ross was the s/o Lawson MacKell Grice and Sarah Jane Banther Grice. In a wood chopping accident when he was a still a lad at home, either the axe or a chunk of wood injured his leg. With some home doctoring by his father, and after giving him the old 'black ball patent medicine' until the labels papered a wall of his room in the cabin, they brought the leg back to use. He was thought a permanent cripple. Imagine his brother's surprise one day in Oklahoma when he looked up and far off, saw a man walking, could it be? His brother Ross? Walking along straight and tall? They had some rejoicing over that surprise. Ross married Roxanna A "Roxie" Pilgrim in Sept. 1909 and they raised a family of 10 children, lovely daughters and a passel of tall, straight lads who favored their Pa:
* May Comelie Jane Grice 1908 – 2001
