LORING A. SHOREY JR.
LINCOLN – Loring A. Shorey Jr., 73, husband of the late Jeanette (Ireland) Shorey, died March 13, 2006, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born May 26, 1932, in Burlington, the son of Loring A. Shorey Sr. and Ellen (Jipson) Shorey. Loring was a member of the Avon D. Flanders VFW Post 7406, Lincoln. He was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed his camp on Madagascal and his hunting camp in Burlington. He also enjoyed time in his truck, “rammin the roads.” He is survived by a son, Timothy W. Shorey and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lincoln; two daughters, Kimberly E. Jimmo and Margaret E. Smart and her husband, Jeffrey, all of Lincoln; one sister, Helen Shorey; seven grandchildren, Heather Ouellette of Naples, Corey Jimmo of New Hampshire, Nathaniel, Lyndsey and Kaitlin Shorey and Darren and Connor Smart, all of Lincoln. In addition to his wife, Jeanette, he was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Otis, Edgar, Leon, Esther, Charles, Cecil, Glenroy and Clayton. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Spring interment will be in South Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Loring and Jeanette Shorey Scholarship Fund.
