Vera was the daughter of Lincoln Farrell and Ella Sharp. She married Fred V. Hibbs on Aug 23, 1924 at Carroll, IA. They were the parents of Juanita.

Nov 11, 1934 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs F.V. Hibbs died suddenly yesterday afternoon at the Carroll clinic. Mrs Hibbs had been in frail health for a number of years. She suffered a severe heart attack last winter but in recent months has enjoyed comparative health. Yesterday afternoon she took her place among the officers of the local Eastern Star at the funeral services for E.H. Bryan. She became ill and left the funeral home to seek aid from her husband, Dr V.F. Hibbs, at the Carroll Clinic about a block away.

As she crossed the back yard of the clinic she fell to the ground. Mrs Nell Conter was nearby and ran to her aid. She was carried into the offices but medical aid could not prolong her life and she died about 2:30.

Vera Farrell was born at Carroll Sept 25, 1898 the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Lincoln Farrell. She attended Carroll schools and also St Anthony Training school for nurses for two years. She practiced her profession irregularly due to her frail health. For 3 years she was employed as a nurse at the Carroll Clinic resigning in view of her marriage Aug 23, 1924 to Dr. F.V. Hibbs. One daughter was born, Jaunita Jane.

Mrs. Hibbs was preceded in death by her mother, who died Nov 26, 1933.

Surviving besides her husband are her father, Lincoln Farrell of Lake City; her daughter, Juanita Jane; two step children, Ruth now Mrs C.J. Stringer of Kushaqua, NY and Wayne Hibbs of Forest City; and the following brothers and sisters: Clyde, Glen, and Homer of Carroll, Merle of Lake City, Raymond of Hamburg, Harry of Audubon, and Mrs Ralph Lillard of Richards.

The deceased was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was an active member of the Eastern Star, holding the position of conductress. She was a member of Three Links Circle and the Rebekah Lodge, having held all the chairs of the organization.

Wayne Hibbs arrived last night from Forest City and his sister, Mrs C.J. Stringer is expected to arrive tomorrow morning from Kushaqua, NY.
