Hugh D. Galey, 92, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at his son's residence in Melbourne, Fla. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Nineveh. His parents were Benjamin and Cora (Wirey) Galey. He married Thelma (Conwell) Galey on June 27, 1935. She preceded him in death May 24, 1991. Survivors include two sons, Fred D. Galey of Melbourne, Fla., and Maurice Dale Galey of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Walter E. Galey of Sumter, S.C.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Almeda Watson.
He was a longtime farmer in the Amity area.
The Rev. Tom Knight will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH — Hugh D. Galey, 92, of Franklin died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at the home of his son in Melbourne, Fla.
Mr. Galey was a longtime farmer in the Amity area.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Knight officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
