Gertude W. Burbach
Gertrude W. Burbach, 97, of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of Hartington, NE, died on Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Millard, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. John Pietramale and Monsignor Cyril Werner officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 2:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be Michael Burbach, Chuck Bruns, Matthew Burbach John Burbach, Mark Burbach, John Murphy, Dan Dziedzic, Tom Chapman, and Kristi Delwick.
Gertrude was born on April 5, 1909 near St. Helena, Nebraska, the fifth of Joseph C. and Anna (Casey) Wieseler's six children. She grew up on farm near St. Helena and married Arthur L. Burbach on January 20, 1931 in St. Helena. The couple farmed near St. James, NE until October 1945 when they moved to Hartington. In September of 1955 the family moved to Omaha and in July of 1974 they retired in Sun City, Arizona. After Arthur's death on April 20, 1993, Gertrude returned to Omaha.
She was a member of Christian Mothers and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Gertrude is survived by 8 children and their spouses, Della and Al Bruns of Roseville, MN, Gerald and Marilyn Burbach of Phoenix, AZ, Arthur and Joyce Burbach of Bellevue, NE, Eugene and Marcella Burbach of Hartington, NE, Romaine Murphy Cole and Allen of Omaha, Claudia Dziedzic of Phoenix, AZ, Charles Burbach of Ashboro, NC, and Richard Burbach of Minneapolis, MN, 34 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, a special niece, LeAnn and Hub Uhing of Hartington, a special nephew, Fred and Cindy Burbach of Apopka, Florida, and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art, an infant daughter, Mary, a son R. Donald Burbach in 1997, a daughter, Karen Chapman in 2005, 4 brothers Fred, Otto,
Mark, and Rudolph Wieseler; and one sister, Dorothy Burbach.
