Robert served as a Second Lieutenant & Pilot on B-24H "Pin-Up-Girl" #42-94941, 705th Bomber Squadron, 446th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

B-24H #42-94941 took off from station AAF 125 in England for a bombing mission over Bayreuth, Germany. They were hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire. The B-24 caught on fire and crashed behind the villa Bijdorp in Holland during the war.

Robert was "Killed In Action" on this mission.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

He is interred somewhere in New York.
