From the Morrill (Nebraska) Tribune, Oct 27, 1910 - Mrs. Ann Parrish, who has been in failing health for some time, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Lint. She had returned to Maxwell, Nebraska from California, just a month previous to her death, having made her home with her daughter at Pasadena for some time.

When seventeen years of age Miss Francis came to the United States with her parents, who settled at Belvedere, Illinois. In 1854 she was married to Lanson L. Parrish and to this union were born nine children – six daughters and three sons, seven of whom are still living. Frank L. Parrish, of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; Henry L. Parrish of Cascade, South Dakota; Hattie (Mrs. J. H.) Lint of Maxwell, Nettie (Mrs. A. B.) Cooper, Lillie (Mrs. I. M.) Dawson of Baxter, Iowa; Mattie (Mrs. John) Kellums of Morrill, Nebraska, and Grace E. Parrish of Pasadena, California. All were present for at the funeral except Mrs. Kellums who was compelled to return to her home in Nebraska a few days before her mother's death.
Besides rearing her own children, Mrs. Parrish had the care and oversight of her granddaughter, Miss Florence Budrow, ever since her infancy. The deceased was a resident of Story County, Iowa from 1876 to 1887. During recent years she has been making her home with her children. She had been in failing health for some time and on September 23rd she came to Maxwell from Pasadena, California with her daughter Grace, hoping to be benefited by the change, but her strength steadily declined until the end came and the spirit took flight at eleven o'clock last Sunday morning.
For a good many years Mrs. Parrish was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church and died a firm believer in the Christ as the world's Redeemer. A faithful Christian mother has departed from the scene of the earth and left her loved ones behind, but she is released from the pain and suffering, from the toil and weariness of the flesh.
"She has passed beyond the portals, Through the gates of gleaming pearl, Joining in the heavenly gathering, Where bright seraph wings unfurl. Past for her, the hours of suffering! Past, the weariness and pain; O'er each earthly conflict victor. She has passed the richer gain. Rest, dear mother, rest forever! Thou hast born the burden long; Now your earthly labor leaving. Swell the glad eternal song. And, although our hearts are heavy with a grief no words can tell, we will bow in weak submission to Him who ‘doeth all things well.'"
Funeral services were held from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lint in Maxwell, at 2:00 o'clock. Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 1910, conducted by Reverend S. P. Telford, pastor of the Christian Church, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Maxwell Cemetery.
