Perry Eugene Adams was born at Adrian, Michigan, Jan. 10, 1865, and passed away at his home in Kearney, Nebr. Dec. 6, 1942 at the age of 77 years,10 months and 25 days.
Mr. Adams has been a resident of Kearney since 1905, having worked for the Union Pacific railroad as a ticket agent from 1905 until about 10 years ago when ill health forced him to retire. One son, Sidney Adams, has preceded him in death, having passed away in 1921.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Adams; a daughter, Mrs. Josie F. Burt, of the home; a granddaughter, Mrs. Eillen Goldizan, California; and two great-grandchildren. He also had a brother, J.W. Adams, Seattle, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. hattie Keniworthy, Richmond Beach, Washington, and Mrs. Allie Duffy, Santa Cruz, California. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. Allen Martin at the Bower Funeral home on Dec. 9. William McLaughlin sang "Abide with Me," and "Rock of Ages" with Mrs. Bowers at the piano. Pallbearers were O.M. Bouers, L.E. Kelly, W.T. Vasholz, Lee Johnson, William McLaughlin and E.G. Bouman. Burial was at the Riverside Cemetery at Gibbon.
