Amherst. April 22-Word was received here of the death of Rev. Samuel Lindenmeyer, 66, which occurred at Portsmouth Hospital, Easter, death being due to pneumonia. Rev. Lindenmeyer was well known in Amherst, having been pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical church for ten years before accepting the charge at Portsmouth where he has served the past 17 years. He was also treasurer of the Evangelical Synod of North America and treasurer of the Board of Foreign Missions. At one time he served as president pf the Ohio district of Evangelical churches. He is survived by his widow, one son, Armin, Cleveland, two daughters, Mrs. A.C. Van Pussselen of Brussels, Belgium, Mrs. T. Odgen Valatio, N.Y. Funeral rites will be held in Portsmouth this afternoon and burial rites will be held here Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Crownhill cemetery.
