Mary "Polly" Dews/Dew was the wife of Capt. Robert Coleman of Lynchburg. Their children included Minerva Coleman Chapman,Catherine Coleman Deyerle Covey, John Dews Coleman, Martha Ann Spotswood Coleman Gaines, Patrick Henry Coleman, Robert S Coleman, Buford Coleman, Louisa Coleman Brown, Caroline Eloisa Coleman Thompson and Mary A.E. Coleman Dews.

Robert's estate was appraised on 12 Jan 1828 (WB6, p. 12, Campbell Co.) "Marriages and Deaths from Lynchburg, Virginia Newspapers", 1794-1836. page 167- COLEMAN, CAPT. Robert S died on 2nd inst. near Lynchburg. Was 47. Left wife and 10 children.

A chancery court case in Campbell Co Va, names all ten children. Index 1856-012.
