On December 22, 1974, suddenly at home, 79 Garnet Bay, age eighty-eight years. Mr. Edward Eibner and his partner Robert Reid formed the company Reid and Eibner Limited in 1913. Mr. Eibner maintained an active position in the company, as president, retiring five years ago. He was very active in St. Edward's parish, for many years. Predeceased by his wife Susan, and son Frank. Surviving are his ons, Edward and Leonard of Winnipeg, three daughters, Mrs. J. M. Benson (Cecilia) of Windsor, Ontario, Mrs. Emily Osborne and Mrs. O. L. Alto (Margaret), both of Winnipeg, twenty-three grandchildren. Requiem Mass was held Tuesday, December 24 at St. Vital Church, Fort Garry at 10 a.m. with Interment in Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Lauria Alto, Jussie Alto, Richard Eibner, Howard Holtman, Ted Barkwell and Aubrey Liddiard. Honorary Pallbearers were: Murray Campbell, John Gillies, Russell LeBeau, Kervin Hillier, Louis Pullane, Emilie Fontaine, and James Muir. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the Manitoba Cancer Society, the Manitoba Heart Foundation or the St. Amant Centre for Retarded Children.
