Funeral services for Sister Marolus Schmitt, 75, of St. Pius X Convent, 513 W. Lindberg, Appleton, Wisconsin, who died Monday afternoon, October 20, 1986 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc, will be 10:30 am Friday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Main celebrant for the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Julian C. Resch, O.Praem and Co-Concelebrants will be Bishop Mark F. Schmitt, Rev. Charles Shebuski and Rev. Ronald Colombo. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, from 4 pm to 8 pm this Thursday. Memorial service will be held at 7 pm this evening at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral Home of Manitowoc is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Marolus Schmitt, 75, of St. Pius X Convent, 513 W. Lindberg, Appleton, Wisconsin, died Monday afternoon, October 20, 1986 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Main Celebrant for the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Julian C. Resch, O.Praem. Co-concelebrants will be Bishop Mark F. Schmitt, Rev. Charles Shebuski and Rev. Ronald Colombo. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Sister Schmitt, nee Evelyn Ann Schmitt, was born December 18, 1910 at Paulding (Roseland), Michigan, daughter of the late Joseph J. and Winifred L. Smith Schmitt. She entered the convent in 1930 and professed her vows in 1933. Sister received a B.A.Degree from St. Norbert College at DePere, Wisconsin and a Masters Education Degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sister taught middle and upper grades at St. Joseph's in Waukesha, Wisconsin; St. Antony's in Marinette, Wisconsin; St. Francis at Petoskey, Michigan; St. Rose at Clintonville, Wisconsin; and St. Pius X at Appleton, Wisconsin. Sister was also Principal at St. Theresa in Appleton, Wisconsin; St. Joseph at Green Bay, Wisconsin; the Catholic Central at Menominee, Michigan and St. Williams at Waukesha, Wisconsin. For three years Sister served as Elementary School Supervisor in the Marquette, Michigan Diocese and also served as Superintendent of Schools for two years in the Diocese.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor and Curtis Moore of Green Bay, Marie and Mitchell Wypyszinski of Green Bay and Lucille and Clarence Vandenack of Green Bay.
