Benjamin Brown Bibb

Benjamin was born in Amherst VA and married Elizabeth Duncan (1807-1836) in 1827.They lived in Virginia and raised a family of four children. Elizabeth died at twenty nine and Ben remarried in 1840 a woman by the name of Mary Ann Mitchell (1820-1853)and they raised of family of 7 children. Three year after the death of his 2nd wife, in November 1856, Ben married for the third time, Elvira Davis (10/19/1821-1/26/1912). Around the age of 60 Ben added to his clan with two more children.

According to the 1860 census records Ben and Elvira, with six of his children and their young son Norman were living in Paynesville at that time and he was a farmer. After Ben died Elvira stayed in Clarksville for awhile and eventually moved to Hannibal where she lived the last ten years of her life with her son, Norman and her 3 grandchildren.
