Genie spent her early years, received her early education, and later graduated from high school in Kentucky. She moved to Sunnyside and on Sept. 14, 1945, she Miss Genie Lochner, and Alvin A. Miller were married here. They made their home in Sunnyside and Genie was employed by Dr. A.E.Borchardt, Dr. P.J.Swofford, and by the City of Sunnyside.

In 1980, she and her husband moved to San Jose, Costa Rica, until returning to Kennewick in 1983, where she was employed as a medical transcriptionist for Dr.T.D. Lahiri.

Genie had taken an active part in the Valley Musical Comedy Company as organist; had done choir work for the United Methodist Church of Sunnyside and was active in community affairs here.

Survivors are her husband, Alvin A.; one son and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Eugenia Lochner; two brothers, Carl Lochner Jr. and Theron Lochner, and number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a daughter.
