Sister Irmina Rolf, age 93, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Monday, April
17, 2000, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the mass of
Christian Burial will be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem, with burial to
follow at Holy Family Convent, Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Petronella Rolf on March 16, 1907, in Hollandtown, Wis.,
daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Hersten Rolf. Sister Irmina
earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc.
She entered the convent in 1922, and professed her vows in 1925. Sister
Irmina served as an elementary teacher at St. John, Antigo, St. Rose,
Clintonville, St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay, St. Mary, Rhinelander, St.
Therese, Appleton, St. Francis, Hollandtown, St. Mary, Kaukauna, St.
Joseph, Rice Lake, St. Mary, Algoma, St. Joseph, Waukesha, St. Peter,
Middleton, St. Anthony, Oconto Falls, St. Mary Delaware, Ohio, St.
Francis De Sales, Manistique, Mich., and Sacred Heart Ayrshire, Iowa.
Since her retirement in 1983 she has been residing in St. Rita Health
Center, at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a
sister-in-law, Irene Rolf, a brother-in-law, Milton Francois, Green Bay;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday (TONIGHT), at Holy Family
Convent, Manitowoc. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy
Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting with funeral arrangements.
