"Mother Pancratia Rokar: She was born July 16, 1846 in Hildesheim, Germany. On September 11, 1863 she was received into the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Community in Gieboldehausen, Germany, at the age of 17. She made her first vows on September 3, 1866. She immigrated to America in August, 1876, coming to Manitowoc to join the other German Sisters who were living with the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, Alverno, WI. She was elected the fourth Superior General of the Community on August 24, 1880. Within three years she died at age 37, on September 22, 1883."

The Sister Superior of the Silver Lake Convent died on Sunday last. The funeral took place yesterday.
