Daniel married Grace Dryden on January 20, 1937 at Littleton, Arapahoe County, Colorado. They were the parents of one son, Daniel.
When he became ill, Daniel came to live with his sister, Amanda in Huron, South Dakota. He died there in the local hospital. A visitation was held at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, but his funeral was held at the Langslet Funeral Home in Gettysburg, South Dakota.
He was survived by one son, Daniel of Denver, Colorado, five sisters, Amanda Norris of Huron, Carrie Norris of Aloha, Hawaii, Millie Prior of Hillsboro, Oregon, Nellie Williams of Keystone, South Dakota and Emmaline Lentz of Minneapolis, Minnesota, four brothers, Samuel of Gettysburg, South Dakota, Willis of Breckinridge, Minnesota, Oliver of Austin, Texas and Peter of California and one half-brother, Sherman of Gettysburg.
NOTE: This memorial originally listed his burial location as Restlawn Cemetery in Huron. This is not possible as Restlawn did not exist in 1958. Unfortunately, his obituary does not state where he was buried. The fact that his funeral was held in Gettysburg indicates that it is likely that he was buried there with his family. However, this cannot be confirmed.
