NORTH RICHLAND HILLS — Donald Lee Coffey, a devoted husband, daddy, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, Oct. 17, 2012.

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Legacy Church of Christ, 8801 Mid Cities Blvd., with ministers Alvin Neal and Ernie Albrect officiating. He will be laid to rest at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson Cemetery, Krum. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the American Heart Association, in his name, is suggested.

Born in Decatur on May 1, 1935, Don was the son of William Ross and Clauda Fortenberry Coffey and grew up farming in Slidell. He graduated from Krum High School before marrying his only high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Wanda Cofer on Nov. 25, 1954.

Don was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He touched many people's lives with his humble service, endless stories and jokes, kindness and witness to our Lord. He was owner and operator of Coffey Neal Tractor Service and enjoyed farming and gardening on the family farm. He leaves behind an amazing legacy of family, friends, laughter, love, faith, and discipleship.

His family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and staff at North Hills Hospital and at Miracle Home Health for the care and many kindnesses given.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Wanda, Don is survived by his son, Chuck Coffey and his wife, Lisa; daughters, Kathy Mayhew and her husband Kevin, Beverly Rector and her husband, John, Julie Tucker and Linda Law and her husband, Gary; "Paw-Paw" to, Cameron Lee, Cooper and Carter Coffey, Joel Mayhew, Dustin Lee Mayhew and his wife, Lauren and Anna-Kate Mayhew Bogaards and her husband, Peter, Haley Rector Blackmore and her husband, Jonathan, Lizzie Rector and Stetsen Lee Rector, Brian Tucker and his wife, Jaimie and Megan Tucker, Emily Law and Matthew Law; and, Kynlee, Gavin, Austin, Jack, Hudson, Thomas, Emmalijn, Ben, Emily, Rylan, Cole, Hallie and Cannon; brother, Sidney Earl Coffey and his wife, Linda Beth; nieces, Lisa Coffey Putney and Liz Daniels; nephew, John Daniels; and cousin, Corbett Garrett.; and countless other family and friends.
