Alman R Gary, of Co. G, recruited man enrolled Aug. 28, 1862 in Elkhart by Capt. Heath as a Private; mustered in Sep. 2, 1862 in Indianapolis by Col. Carrington at age 20. He was 5Œ 7 tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, and light hair. Born Nov. 1842 in NY, employed as a farmer, single, resident of Fremont, in Steuben Co., IN. Discharged for disease Jan. 26, 1863 in Nashville, TN with rank of Private. Notes: In Louisville hospital Dec. 1, 1862, then Nashville hospital Dec. 7, 1862. Discharged due to chronic diarrhea and general debility of chronic cystitis of knee joint. Was in no action. Almor R. Gary filed Invalid Pension Application to receive Pension Certificate #453098 Jul. 14, 1885 also listed Co. F 35th IN Inf. where he served Sep. 1864 to Jun. 1865. Married Sarah 1888. On Hillsdale Co., MI 1900-1910 censuses. Died Jan. 20, 1921; buried in Bankers Cemetery, Sec. 3/Grave 33 in Cambria, Hillsdale Co., MI.
