Sister Matilda Peterschick, 101, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity, died Sunday afternoon, November 11, 1990 at Holy
Family Convent, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday,
November 13 at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev. Robert B. Reppen
O.Praem, will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will
follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Born Regina Peterschick September 7, 1889, in Edson, Wisconsin, daughter
of the late John and Anna Smasall Peterschick. She entered the convent
in 1906 and professed her vows in 1911. Sister Matilda earned a RN
diploma from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing of Zanesville, Ohio.
Sister served as a Registered Nurse at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc;
Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio and St. Joseph's Home of West
Port, Nebraska. Since her retirement from active ministry in 1977 she
has been residing at the Mother House.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a
brother, Albert Peterschick of Randall, Minnesota; nieces; nephews;
other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the Convent from 4 pm
to 8 pm this Monday, where a prayer service will be held at 7 pm. The
Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, assisted with arrangements.
