Joe Edgar Karr was born in Oklahoma, Indian Territory in 1888 to John Walter Karr 1895-1918 & Willie Louisa Kennard 1861-1906. His mother was a victim of the "Great Cyclone" that hit their town of Bellevue, Clay County, Texas on May 5, 1906. Surgery was performed on Willie in Ft. Worth but she died 2 days after the tornado demolished the community.
On 30 Sept. 1906 Joe Ed married Jewell Dora Mills in Bellevue, Clay County, Texas. They had five children:
1) Obeda Dura Karr - 1910-1997
2) Frank Wilson Karr - 1914-1980
3) Mary Karr - 1916-1987
4) Joe Edgar, Jr. - 1919-1975
5) Lura Louise Karr - 1922-1996
He died 9 Nov 1934 and is buried in Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Special thanks to Julie Johnson for the photos.
