Major League Baseball Player. A native of Manassas, Virginia, he made his major league debut on April 18, 1934, and played his final game on September 29, 1945. At 5'11, and 170lbs, Bucher played for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1934 to 1937, St. Louis Cardinals in 1938, and the Boston Red Sox from 1944 to 1945. Bucher hit .265 in his major league career, had 17 home runs and 193 RBI. Bucher passed away in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, in October 2004, at the age of 93.
