In the 1920 U.S. Census, Charles was single and living with his mother. His uncle, Charles Henry Koppelman (1851-1923), was living with them.
Charles married Jessie L. (Benton) Thompson Baetjer (12 Jan 1878 - 15 Feb 1964) on 14 July 1925 in Manhattan, New York, as her second husband.
Jessie was born in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio, to Charles W. Benton (born Sept 1853) and Clara M. (Bemis) Benton (born Apr 1857). Jessie was the widow of Richard H. Thompson, Sr., (22 Jan 1855 - 10 Jan 1922) at the time of her marriage to Charles. Jessie and Richard had married on 22 Sept 1898 in Fennville, Allegan County, Michigan. In the 1900, 1910, and 1920 U.S. Censuses, they were living in Buffalo, Erie County, New York. Richard is #78843121.
