Joel Cleon Buchan, age 92, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2012, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Buchan was born on February 5, 1920, in Douglas, GA to the late Clarence Buchan and Mary Rosa Belle Cliett Buchan.
Survivors include: his three daughters, Betty (Tullis) Allen, of Douglas, GA, Jolene (Paul) Elliott, of Jesup, GA, and Charice (Burt) Johnson, of Ambrose, GA, one sister, Fern (Billy) Roberts, of Dublin, GA, sister-in-law, Evelyn Buchan, of Douglas, GA, ten grandchildren, Van (Leigh Ann) Allen, of Douglas, GA, Kristy (Jeff) Weems, of Douglas, GA, Windy (James) Stroud, of Jesup, GA, Mark Elliott, of Jesup, GA, Miranda Boyles, of Jesup, GA, Michael (Dawn) Elliott, of Jesup, GA, Courtney (Payton) Stephenson, of Swainsboro, GA, Devon Johnson, of Alma, GA, Brett Johnson, of Alma, GA, and Jackie Johnson, of Baxley, GA, and twelve great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Miller Buchan, a brother, Derward Buchan and a sister, Juanita Merritt.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bushnel Chapel with Rev. Roy Davis and Rev. Gerald Gardner officiating. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.
