Leah Thomas, 76, of Troy RR 3, Troy, PA died Tuesday, November 21, 1995 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. She was born December 25, 1918 in West LeRoy, the daughter of Marshall and Laura Williams Bellows. She was a member of the LeRoy Independent Baptist Church, Awana leader for several years, served as secretary and treasurer of the Sunday School for 18 years, a member of the White Dove Rebekah Lodge in LeRoy and had been attending the First Baptist Church in Troy. She had been employed by J. J. Newberry store in Towanda, had been a caregiver at the Bradford County Manor in Burlington and also worked for eight years at the Edgewood Dairy Store in Troy. Mrs. Thomas is survived by a son, Edward M. Hammond of Troy; daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Manley of Troy and Marcella and Joe Osman of Binghamton, NY; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers and a sister-in-law, Earl and Jennie Bellows of West LeRoy, Byron "Barney" Bellows of Elmira, NY and a sister and brother-in-law, Erma and Edwin Nett of Newark Valley, NY; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thomas was the wife of the late William L. Thomas who died March 12, 1983. Private funeral services were held at the Vickery Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Garry Zuber officiating and burial to be in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to LeRoy Baptist Church, LeRoy, PA 17743, the First Baptist Church of Troy or Troy Community Hospital (Troy Gazette Register, Troy, Pennsylvania, Thursday, November 30, 1995).
