WILLIAM J. NORMANDY EAST BARRE - William Joseph Normandy, 42, of East Barre passed away Monday, March 15, 2004, in Kuwait while on military duty. Born in Burlington on Feb. 12, 1962, he was the son of Paul and Doris (Emmons) Normandy Sr. Bill attended Colchester High School. He was employed at Rock of Ages and later became a selfemployed roofer. For the last five years Bill was a popular bus driver and custodian at Barre Town Middle and Elementary School. Sgt. Normandy was a member for over 20 years with the Service Battery, 1st Battalion, 86th Field Artillery stationed in Berlin. Bill was a devoted father who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. Bill was also an avid Red Sox fan and race car fan. He is survived by his mother, Doris; his children, Samantha, Tabitha, Rachael and Joshua; Bill's fiancee, Katrina; four brothers and four sisters. Family and friends may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre, on Sunday, March 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 22, at 11 a.m. in St. Monica Church in Barre. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Early Book Center, Barre Town Middle and Elementary School, 70 Websterville Road, Barre, Vt. 05641.
