Mary accepted Jesus as her Savior at a very young age and was a faithful Christian. She lived her life for Jesus and would ask everyone "Are You Ready To Meet Jesus"? She, along with her husband and daughters sang for many years as the "Singing Earley Family". She loved to sing and was a great blessing to many over the years, especially singing at funerals for family and friends.
Mary was retired from Aladdin Mills where she worked many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Reta Yanez of Chatsworth, GA; son-in-law, Dean Dobbs of Coker, AL; granddaughters, Angie Baines, Andrea Dobbs both of Coker, AL, Rose Earley of Chatsworth, GA; great-grandchildren, Alex Baines, Andrew Baines, Eddie Luke and Ebony Jewel Love; brother, Clifford Ponders; sister and brothers-in-law, Anna and Wayne Harkins of Chatsworth, GA, Pete Verhine of White, GA, Ilvert King of Chatsworth, GA; sister-in-law, Sandra Ponders of Chatsworth, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Jewell Earley will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Tony Southern, Reverend Scott Hambree and Reverend Barry Etheridge officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia, with Jeff Southern, Michael Southern, Robert Love, Johnny Cloer and Ricky Cloer serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning until the service hour.
