TWO SOLDIERS BURIED
Privates Adams and Blaine Laid to Rest With Military Honors.
The funerals of Henry Blaine and Frank Adams, members of Co. F., Ninth Regiment, who died of typhoid fever contracted at Gettysburg, took place yesterday afternoon and may members of the regiment turned out.
Services were conducted at the residence of Mr. Blaine on Spruce street by Rev. H. E. Hayden. The military escort was in command of First Lieut. George S. McCleevy of Co. F. Services were held at 2 o'clock.
At the residence of Frank Adams, 46 Academy street, services were conducted at 4 o'clock by Rev. R. B. Webster, and the military escort was in charge of Capt. Miers of Co. F.
A quartet from the regimental drum corps sang at the funeral of Mr. Blaine. A large number of the members of the regiment attended in uniform and Capt. Miers of Co. F. desires to thank the boys of the city battalion, the drum corps and Capt. Nelson Stranberg and his company of Parsons for their kindness in assisting at the services, which Co. F, owing to the large number of men who are still ill, could not have conducted alone. Three members of the company have died and there are fifteen still sick. Among the officers present were Lt. Col. C. Bow Dougherty, Lieut. Fred F. Turner of Co. B , Capt Walter Marshall of Co. B, Capt. Strangberg of Co. E, Lieut. Jenkins and Lieut. Williams of Co. E, and Lieut. Harry Roat of Co. F.
The pall bearers at the funeral of Mr. Blaine were privates Thomas, Vollrath, Sherry, Matten, Koyle and German, and for Mr. Adams privates Wilcox and Schultz, who occupied the same tent with him at Gettysburg, two members of the B. E. A. and two members of the Jr. O. U. A. M.
The firing squad at the grave of Mr. Adams was in command of corporal Charles D. Wilcox and was composed of privates Zimmer, Jordan, McDermott, Ridall, Sweedborg, Hartman, Colbleigh and Klipple.
The firing squad at the grave of Mr. Blaine was in charge of corporal Fred Hanson and was composed of privates Molarky, Robertson, Cleveland, Johnston, J. Jones, George Jones, Edwards and Williams.
