From Family Search - Enlisted 14 Jan 1942 Salt Lake City, Utah. Corporal, Troop B, 18th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized), USA Army. Fought in Battle of the Bulge, Belgium/France. Captured there by Germans and became a Prisoner of War in December 1944 until liberated 13 April 1945 in a starving and ill condition. Assigned to a hospital in Mournmalon, France and then another in Paris, France in order to recover but he did not. Died in a hospital at Paris, France and first placed in temporary burial at Blossville, France then his body was repatriated to parents in Paragonah, UT.
