He died at his home following a period of declining health.
LeRoy was the son of Oliver Ernest Elliott and Grace Norris Elliott. He attended school at Orwell, Pa. and in his youth worked on the family farm as well as other area farms. LeRoy was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Sylvania Electric in Towanda for 36 years until his retirement. LeRoy was a member of the Ulster United Methodist Church and Towanda American Legion Post No. 42.
Surviving were his wife, Emily Shaw Elliott, whom he married on March 1, 2008; children, Susan Elliott of Williamsport, Shirley Raisch and husband Jeffery of Williamsport, LeRoy F. Elliott Jr. of Monroeton, Lydia Murphy and husband William of Towanda; grandchildren, Philip, Kirk and Amy Cook, Michael White, Samuel Raisch, Frances Easley, Laura McIntyre, Samantha Smith; 11 grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; step children, Eloise Gallagher and husband William of Raleigh, N.C., LeRoy Vernon and wife Peg of Rome; several step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Oliver Elliott; granddaughter, Stacy Sue Cook; grandson, Lance Allen Raisch; great-grandson, Bryan Easley; and sisters, Iona, Rhena and Leona.
