Kathryn L. Willey, 92, formerly of 201 Chestnut St., Towanda, Pa., and Franklindale, Pa., passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at the Bradford County Manor, West Burlington Twp., Pa. Born Jan. 9, 1917 in Towanda, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Kunzman Lantz. During WWII., Kathryn was employed at the Mills Hospital in Towanda and later owned and operated the Century Store in Franklindale for many years. Kathryn enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are: her sons, Calvin G. Willey and his wife, Linda M. Willey of Towanda, Pa., Ronald W. Willey and his wife Linda C. Willey of Monroeton, Pa.; her brother, Lee Lantz of Athens, Pa.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon A "Sye" Willey on Jan. 18, 1989, and her daughter Leah Jane Serfass on July 6, 1993. The funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with the Rev. Thomas Blackall officiating. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.
