Bonnie J. Bowman Quinn, 93, former long-time resident of Troy, Pa., went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday morning Oct. 1, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Osceola, Pa.
Bonnie Jean was born Aug. 23, 1923 in Leola, Ark., the third child of the late Thomas Edward and Lilley Mae (Jones) Brashears. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother; a devoted nurse and a dear friend to many.
After graduating from Arkadelphia, Ark., High School in 1942, Bonnie enrolled in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps., earning the rank of Second LT. and graduating as a registered nurse. She was a registered nurse for Robert Packer Hospital for 20 years, and later she was an RN supervisor at Bradford County Manor. She also did home nursing for several years.
She was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Troy, Troy American Legion Post 49, the Senior Citizens Club of Troy, Bradford County Manor's Breakfast Club and was an instructor of PEPI Exercise classes. She volunteered at Hillcrest Apartments for Laurel Insurance and was a CEF and daycare camp helper.
Bonnie loved everyone and wanted everyone to love her. She especially enjoyed fishing and taught many young people to fish. She also loved traveling south for the winter.

Surviving are her two children, Kenneth (and Barbara) Bowman of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa., and Irene (and Charles) Williams of Osceola; six grandchildren, Carol (and Tom) Collins of Horseheads, N.Y., Jean (and Joseph) Orchowski of Elkland, Patricia (and Ty) Rhinehart of Osceola, Charles Williams Jr. (his fiancée Courtney Losinger) of Osceola, Angelee (and David) Gardner of Georgia, and Anna Bowman of Watertown, N.Y.; 10 great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Lisa, Todd, Samantha, Nikolas, Samuel, Isabella, Gabriele, and Scott; four great-great-grandchildren, Cooper, Brinkley, Ava, and Riley; a brother, James Jones of Mississippi; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Bowman, in 1969; her second husband, Joseph Quinn, in 1991; and two siblings, Eloise Crowder and Glenn Brashears.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive, Canton, Pa. At 12:30 p.m., Pastor Mark Steckiel will officiate the funeral service to honor her life at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Bradford County Memorial Park with military honors accorded.
