WINTHROP - Marion P. Hunter, 84, of Brasher Falls, died on Friday (March 4, 1988) at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1903 in Stockholm, daughter of Hugh and Eva Phelps Parr. She attended Brasher and Stockholm schools and was first married to Joseph Regan with the marriage ending in a divorce. She married Alexander
T. Hunter oh May 22, 1937. Mr. Hunter, a carpenter, died on April 25, 1979.

She received the New York State Legislature's achievement award for her effort and dedication in improving the life of senior citizens, and a certificate of merit from Assemblymen John G. A. O'Neil for outstanding community service.

She was the founder of the LBSH housing' complex, for which she served on the board of directors and was a past president. She was also a charter member and past president of the Tri-Town Senior Citizens and started the Tri-Town
Nutrition Site under the St. Lawrence County Nutrition Program.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Eva) MacLeod of Herkimer; three step-daughters, Mrs. Claude (Jean) Moulton of Stockholm, Mrs. Phillip (Wilda) Grant of Massena, Mrs. Aldo (Geraldine) Boron of Chicopee, MA; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother; Everett R. Parr of Winthrop; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Douglas of San Diego. A daughter, Marion, predeceased her.

Burial was made in the Winthrop Cemetery.
