Born Feb. 12, 1917, in Donora, he was the son of Fred and Ivy Schmidt.
Chuck was a lifelong baseball fan and collector.
He was a graduate of Donora High School and Duffs Iron City College, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Schmidt was a World War II veteran and a member of Unity Church and the American Legion.
Formerly a resident of Rochester, N.Y., and Lake Worth, Fla., he was an employee of Prudential Insurance Company, Eastman Kodak Company and The Winthrop House of Palm Beach, Fla.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jane Punnett Schmidt; one son, Charles P. Schmidt and wife Gina; two grandsons, Gary L. and Matthew C. Clark; one son-in-law, Gary L. Clark; two sisters, Viola S. Grigas and Audrey S. Barton; and one sister-in-law, Marjorie Leddon.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Joy Clark.
Graveside services will be held in Monongahela Cemetery. The Day Funeral Home, 4150 East Third St., Bloomington, Ind., is in charge of arrangements.
