Obituary: Clyde Garrison Way, Sr., 84, died Thursday, Jan 22, at his residence while under the care of hospice with family by his side. Mr. Way was born Aug 11, 1924, in Long County, to the late Benjamin and Fannie Curtis Way. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Pacific Theater. He then attended the University of Miami and then moved to Tennessee where he opened and maintained the Presbyterian Church Camp in Tennessee. He became a plumber by trade and worked in residential and commercial work. He was a member of the State Farm Bureau Aquiculture Commission. Mr. Way was a member of the Elim Baptist Church where he was a trustee. Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Way of Long County; son, Garry Way of Long County; daughters and sons-in-law, Lena and Glynn Dyer of Augusta, Alice and Marc Rader of Madison, AL; brothers, Thomas Way of Long County and James Way of San Diego, CA; sisters, Lea Alfinito of San Jose, CA, Elizabeth Bishop of Kathleen, GA, and Kathleen Lusk of Liberty County; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
