Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Belken, 65, widower of Leila Copeland Belken, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 9, 2008.
Born in Boca Raton, Fla., he was a son of the late Vincent Joseph Belken and the late Margaret Marie Lampey Belken. Mr. Belken attended Sumter First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include three children, Margaret Cooper (William) of Wichita Falls, Texas, David Belken (Erica) of Sumter and Patrick Belken (Leslie) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren, Stephanie Cooper, Emily Cooper, William Cooper, Anna Belken, Patrick Belken Jr. and Ethan Belken; three brothers, Richard Belken (Nelly) of Del Rio, Texas, Ed Belken (Paula) of Summerville and Phillip Belken (Laura) of Gulf Port, Miss.; and two sisters, Carol Evans and Christine Cutchens (Roy) of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Govro.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Greg Pressley and the Patrick Belken officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery near Bishopville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Sumter First Church of the Nazarene, 3700 Patriot Parkway, Sumter, SC 29154.
