Partial Obituary – The Ford Progress Mar 14, 1924, p. 8

Mr. Duncker had been ill for many months suffering with a complication of ailments; consulting a physical in Chicago more than two years before, he as informed his trouble was of a malignant nature. He was not confined to his room until the past few days and the end almost as a shock to his friends.

William C. Duncker was born in Osterburg, Germany, February 10, 1862, the oldest of a family of six children; came to America with his parents, J.F.W. and Fredrica Duncker in 1872 settling in Chicago. The younger brother Gustave died there soon after the family arrived and a sister Augusta died in Kansas.

When his father died in 1876, William was 14 years old and being the oldest of a pioneer family which had been an integral part of Ford County he remained on the farm and in time considerable land. He was married to Pauline Fiege on May 31, 1886, who immigrated to America in October 1885. This union was blessed with 8 children; two of them dying in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Duncker lived many years in Kansas near Offerle, then moved to a farm near Ford City where they lived nine years. Farmers fortune, combined with toil and industry of the entire family smiled upon them so that the original homestead of 160 acres was doubled several times.

Mr. Duncker took a keen interest in politics and filled with credit the office of county commissioner for more than a decade.

In 1913 the farm was given up as a place of residence and part of the family moved south to Southerland Springs, Wilson County, Texas, in August seeking a change of location for Mrs. Duncker's health, where Mr. Duncker soon became active in business affairs, investing in a home and some business enterprises.
