Mary attended Madison College where she earned a degree in Library Science. She married Raymond C. Lindsey in 1952 and lived in Norfolk, Rich Square, N.C., and Myrtle Beach, S.C. Mary retired from her job as a school librarian at Woodland Park Elementary School on the Myrtle Beach Air Force base where she worked for 20 years.
Her husband and friend Raymond passed away in 1977. Mary married Arthur "Elmo" Burks husband and partner in 1980 until his death in 1996. In 2001, Mary married Raymond F. Setler, husband and companion until his death in 2008.
Mary moved to Roswell, Ga., in 2009 to the Chambrel property to be closer her family.
She is survived by her sister, Annie Payne (Madison Heights), her daughter, Rae Crookless and son-in-law, Chris Crookless (Roswell, Ga.), grand-daughter Laura Crookless (Woodstock, Ga.), step son, Mark Elmo Burks, his wife Deborah and grand-daughter Amanda Burks (Fredericksburg).
Mary who will be deeply missed steps into eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Chambrel of Roswell, 1000 Applewood Drive, Roswell, Ga. Friends and family are encouraged to attend. Burial will be scheduled at a later date. Her remains will be laid to rest with her late husband, Elmo Burks, at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington.
Remembrances may be sent to the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, 1673 Jamerson Road, Marietta, GA 30066 for the Memorial Garden fund.
