Sister Rosemary Nytes, 63, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Friday morning, November 3, 1989 at the Convent. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Presiding the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Robert B. Reppen, O.Praem and burial will be in Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
Sister Rosemary was born April 21, 1926 at Kaukauna, Wisconsin, daughter of the late August and Johanna Lorenz Nytes. She entered the convent in 1942 and professed her vows in 1945. Sister Rosemary earned a B.A. degree from the Holy Family College, Manitowoc and an M.A. from Wisconsin State University, Superior. She taught at St. Mary, Bloomington, Wisconsin; St. Paul, Manitowoc; Sacred Heart, Oshkosh; Holy Innocents, Manitowoc; St. Mary, Reedsville; St. Gabriel, Neenah; Sts. Peter and Paul, Wellston, Ohio; St. John the Baptist, Plymouth; St. Mary, Waukesha; St. Mary, Delaware, Ohio; and St. Peter, Middleton, Wisconsin. Sister Rosemary worked in the Outreach Ministry Program at San Deniano, Slinger, Wisconsin for 1 year. She has been residing at Holy Family Convent since 1988.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Colette Nytes of Kaukauna, Aloys and Edith Nytes of Kaukauna; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mrs. Janet Bruecker of Black Creek, Wisconsin, Jerome and Mertie Haen of Kaukauna, Allen and Clara Rademacher of Kaukauna, Joseph and Helen Mirsberger of Hilbert; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, 4 pm to 8 pm this Sunday, where a prayer service will be at 7 pm at the Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, are in charge of funeral arrangements.
