Sister Caroline Nenahlo, age 87, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Veronica Nenahlo on November 28, 1911, in Lena, Wis., daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Kubal Nenahlo. She entered the Convent in 1929 and professed her vows in 1932. Sister Caroline earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc. Sister Caroline served as an elementary teacher at St. Joseph, Rice Lake, St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, St. Andrew, Manitowoc, St. Anthony, Marinette, Sacred Heart, Oshkosh, St. Andrew, Potosi, St. Joseph, Waukesha, Wis., Holy Family, Lindsay, Guardian Angels, West Point, Neb., St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio, St. John and St. Ann, Menominee, St. Ambrose, Ironwood, St. Francis De Sale, Manistique, and St. Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Mich. She also served in the Priests Department and laundry at the Motherhouse. She retired to San Damiano Convent, Slinger in 1985 and has been a resident of St. Rita Health Facilities since 1990. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister, Sr. Carolla Nenahlo, OSF, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 5, 1999, at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting with funeral arrangements.
