FRIEDA NEUMEIER

Sister Leufrieda Neumeier, age 95, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity, died Thursday morning, Oct. 28, 2004 at Holy Family
Convent, Manitowoc.
The former Agnes Neumeier was born May 29, 1909, in Gresham, daughter of
the late George and Frances Mader Neumeier. She entered the convent in
1925 and professed her vows in 1928. Sister Leufrieda served as a
homemaker at St. Mary, Brillion; St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio; and as
a nurse's aide at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna; Guardian Angels Boarding
School, Oneida; St. Rita's Infirmary at the Motherhouse, Manitowoc; Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc; St. Joseph Home, and St. Francis Memorial
Hospital, West Point, Neb. After retiring from the nursing ministry, she
performed various tasks at Ozanam Home, New Berlin; Holy Family
Hospital, Holy Family Convent, St. Francis Convent, all of Manitowoc;
and St. Joseph Home, West Point, Neb. Since 1996, she has been residing
in the St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse. She is a member of the
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two
sisters and a brother-in-law; Virginia Rankin, Appleton; Anna and James
Redmond, Gresham; a brother: Harold Neumeier, Gresham; a sister-in-law:
Angeline Neumeier, Gresham; niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent,
Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 where a prayer service
will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2004 at Holy
Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian
Burial will be the Ev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem with burial at Holy
Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
