Sister Florence Myers, age 83, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Wednesday, October 19, 1924, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 21, 1994, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem, with burial in Holy Family Cemetery.
Florence Myers was born June 29, 1911, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Raymond B. and Mary Elizabeth Haefner Myers. She entered the convent in 1926 and professed her vows in 1929. Sister Florence earned a B.A. Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc. Sister Florence served as an elementary school teacher in Bloomington, Clintonville, Sacred Heart, Manitowoc, St. Theresa and St. Pius X, Appleton, Antigo, Waukesha, Wis., Mingo Junction, Woodsfield, Wellston, Ohio; Menominee, Mich., Yuma, Ariz. After retiring from teaching, she resided at St. Agnes, Mingo Junction, where she visited the sick and elderly in the area and St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio, where she helped with parish work. Since 1991 when she became ill, she has been a resident of Holy Family Convent. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two sisters, Grace McDonald, Zanesville, Ohio and Louise Wills, Livermore, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Cora Myers, Esther Lynn; both of Zanesville, Ohio; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 1994 (TODAY), at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home is assisting with funeral arrangements.
