Mrs. Mickey Thomas Evans, 64, wife of Winston C. Evans, died Monday, October 15, 2012, at her residence after an illness. Mrs. Evans was born on September 29, 1948, in Sumter, a daughter of the late B.D. Thomas and Ruby Baker Thomas. She retired from Talon Manufacturing Company of Lake City and was a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Children's Church, and was a member of the church choir. Mrs. Evans was a former member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in preparing meals for church suppers, baking cakes for everyone in the community and preparing meals for the shut-ins. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Terri Coward and Sandy Thomas.
