EARLY, Edith Evangeline Taylor, 91, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2001. She was a loving mother and grandmother who lived a Christian life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nash Perry Taylor and Etta Perdue Taylor; husband, Roy Houston Early; three brothers and one sister. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Denny Gene Early, Sr. and Willie Mae Early; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Lee Early Woodson and Fred Woodson; grandchildren, Denny Gene Early, Jr., Shelly Renee Wood, Amy Elizabeth Ribble, Barry Lee Mixon, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Lauren Early, Tyler Goodwin Early, Joshua Lee Hall, and Jonathan Lee Mixon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor T.R. King, II officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel. The family wishes to give special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and to One South Skilled Care at Friendship Manor for their loving care.
