You Didn't Have To Be
Written by Beverly, Bobby & Amie

You didn't have to be there
At the time of all our birth's
Or walk the floor when we were sick
To show us what you're worth

You didn't have to get up,
And put us on the Bus
But none the less you always were
Just like a Dad to us

You didn't have to buy our clothes
Or listen to us cry
And yet you'll always be our dad
Until the day we die

You didn't even know us then
And mom you'd never seen
Late in her life, you came to her
Treated her just like a Queen

You taught our Amie how to drive
And never lost your smile
You were the one who took her arm
And walked her down the Isle

Some may think you had no kids
None fathered of your own
But that's not true, see we believe
You fathered us, when grown

You - not only loved her kids
But the grandkids just as well
And you were there to help us up
Each & every time we fell

You made Mom smile, you made Mom love
You made her laugh and live
And if any of us needed help
You were always there to give

You loved our Mom gave her respect
Loved you, with every day she had
No, we are not yours, by your blood
But in our hearts you're Dad.

For being our real Dad & Grandpa -we love you. Beverly, Bobby and Amie, Wayne Dale, Allon, Matt, Johnnie, Kayla & Ian.
