Olen B. Tinsley, 84, of Rising Sun, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, at the Dearborn County Hospital Lawrenceburg, IN. Olen was born in Bowling Green, KY, on June 15, 1925, a son of the late Lottie (Majors) and Walter Tinsley. On August 22, 1952 he married Bettie Jean (Brooks) Tinsley, who died on April 8, 2005. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class in World War II and received the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. He worked as a clerk at Kroger in Lawrenceburg, Ind., for over 10 years. He retired from Alton Box Factory in 1989 and also worked at Merries Foods in Aurora for 13 years. He was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion.

Olen was survived by two daughters, Connie Tinsley and Barbara Tinsley both of Rising Sun, two sons Dennis Tinsley and Floyd Tinsley (Debra), also all of Rising Sun. He was also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
And survived by three sisters, Lola Mae Miller, of Rising Sun, Joyce Hill, of Moores Hill, Sarah Tinsley, of Rising Sun, and
a brother, Walter Tinsley, of Moores Hill, IN.
Olen was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bettie Jean brothers Floyd and James Tinsley and sister Dortha Huffine.
Funeral service was held at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun on Friday, April 23, with Pastor Charles Hill officiating. Interment was at the Rising Sun New Cemetery.
